Our Syrah exhibits deep plum and cherry notes with a beautiful peppery finish. Despite it being a bold wine, it is very smooth in tannins and shows a freshness due to how the wine is made using whole berry fermentation. Grapes are sourced from a sustainable vineyard in the Northern California Sierra Foothills American Viticultural Area (AVA). Third-party laboratory tested to be free of pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides.
Hearty dishes like braised meats, roasted vegetables, and savory cheeses are excellent companions for our Syrah. Its depth and spice make it a great match for dishes with smoky or earthy elements.
We target a brix of 24.5 to 25 for picking the Syrah grapes - any lower and there is a risk of green vegetative overtone and any higher creates excessive alcohol and overpowering jamminess. The wine is aged in neutral oak for a minimum of 10 months before bottling. To ensure optimal freshness, from the time the grapes are picked at harvest to when the winemaking process begins, it is approximately four hours.
