A life without wine…could it be?
I always loved uncorking, pouring, swirling, sniffing, and drinking beautiful deep reds, amber colored whites, and lively roses. Increasingly, I found that after just one small glass of wine, I ended up with a very bad headache. The prospect of life without wine was especially problematic because I was about to buy a vineyard. I didn’t want to be the only non-wine drinking vineyard owner in the world, but things were headed in that direction.
With the help of my doctor, I discovered that I had developed a sensitivity to sulfites and high levels of histamines present in some wines. Armed with this information, I dove into researching the issue. Through trial and error and learning abut the winemaking process associated with each wine, I found that I was able to drink some wines with low histamines and minimal sulfites. Good news – wine was back in my life. I could be a vineyard owner who drank wine!
Sensitivity to wine can be an issue. Although still anecdotal, there is increasing data that supports that some people react to high levels of sulfites, histamines, and other additives in wine. Unfortunately for those who drink the wine, wine labels do not provide the details needed to assess the contents.

And for added assurance, each of the wines we offer undergoes an independent laboratory analysis with strict criteria that must be passed regarding low sulfite levels, low histamines, and zero trace pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides.
