Marco Cappelli
As a well-known winemaker with extensive experience in Napa, the California Sierra Foothills, and Europe for over 20 years, Marco’s skillful hands and palette have launched many award-winning wines. Along with his winemaking consulting, Marco has a new tasting room (Cappelli Wine) which uses innovative sustainable practices such as wines on tap for take out in reusable bottles or enjoyed by the glass at his lovely wine bar on Main Street in Placerville, CA.
Greg Stokes
Tapping into decades of experience as a winemaker for brands in California and Texas, we are honored and excited to have Greg create our signature red blend, Sol Rei Red Private Selection. Using rare Mencia wine grapes and his highly-acclaimed pinot noir winemaking style, Greg achieves the almost impossible - a low tannin red wine with fantastic medium body that is also low in histamines and sulfites. Assisting in the winemaking magic are his wife, Deborah, and son, Kyle, who are also winemakers.
Penny Gadd-Coster
As one of the most influential winemakers in Napa, Penny’s winemaking style has elevated sparkling wine made from Califormia premium wine grapes to a new award-winning level. Using the Methode Champenoise, this traditional French technique enables soft, natural effervescent bubbles, paired with beautiful aroma and fruit notes in every bottle. We are very proud to feature the quality and refinement of her sparking winemaking achievements.
Gianni Abate
Specializing in crafting beautiful white wines and practicing sustainable viticulture, Gianni is the winemaker behind Sol Rei Wine Sauvignon Blanc. With over 25 years of experience making world-class wines, including working for Robert Mondavi, his wines reflect a refined palate and depth of technique and flavor.
